Causes of weapons of mass destruction (blog #6)
The highly destructive weapons of mass destruction have many causes to the environment, people, etc... Weapons of mass destruction can be a big harm to humans, things humans have made like buildings, etc..., natural things like mountains, forests, water, etc... and even the air we breathe.
The contents of weapons of mass destruction can bring toxins, chemicals that are poisonous to a designated target of enemies. Also diseases, radioactivity and radiation. As mentioned it can bring harm to humans, that being children too. Children would be more affected by the weapons more than adults on a physiologic, pharmacologic, and because the characteristics of them developing still.
Because of the tremendous amount of energy released in a nuclear detonation, temperatures of tens of millions of degrees C develop in the immediate area of a nuclear detonation (contrast this with the few thousand degrees of a conventional explosion). This compares with the temperature inside the core of the Sun. At these temperatures, every thing near ground-zero vaporizes. The remaining gases of the weapon, surrounding air and other material form a fireball. Blast effects are most carefully considered by military war planners bent upon destroying specific targets. However, it is the thermal effects which hold the greatest potential for environmental damage and human destruction. This is because nuclear firestorms in urban areas can create millions of tons of smoke which will rise into the stratosphere and create massive global cooling by blocking sunlight.
These can bring harm to animals and the environment which both have relationships with one another. If animals living in a habitat are exposed to the materials inside a weapon it will affect them physically and also their homes. Things will decompose, rot, food would be inedible. Already stressed ecosystems would collapse. Deadly climate change, radioactive fallout and toxic pollution would cause a mass extinction event, eliminating humans and most complex forms of life on Earth.
